Coffeetable book captures Louisiana's sense of place I’ve long studied expression of place through literature, both classical and contemporary works, and written about many of . Louisiana has a rich natural resource in its writers. In Voices from Louisiana I have profiled eleven of its most popular fiction writers and poets. In addition, I discuss eleven newcomers to the Louisiana literary scene. Voices from Louisiana is available through LSU Press and Barnes and Noble. Local book signings will be announced.

Voices from Louisiana is a remarkably fresh yet scholarly collection of essays on a diverse group of living Louisiana writers. Distinctive for its easy-to-read yet well-researched style and its intimate interviews, this collection gives equal measure to authors with deep Louisiana roots and to transplants and newcomers.   Louisiana: A History combines historical renderings, rarely seen photographs, and historical documents with powerful videography to create a unique view of our state. Using old journals, correspondence and family reminiscences, the story also reveals the voices of real people describing how they lived, worked, played and survived.
